The Anchorpoints and Routepoints at the HollandRoute are all historically connected widt the North Sea Canal or the river Zaan. The locations are in most cases redeveloped and have got public functions.
At most locations cultural activities such as theatre, lectures, workshops and festivals take place. At some of them a bar, restaurant or cinema is present.

Routes
On the road
A signed main route of the HollandRoute heritage network connects many fascinating heritage attractions.
On and near this main route an important part of ERIH Anchor Points and Route Points can be found: historic mills, pumping stations, trade exchanges, factories, transport museums, up to the flower auction of Aalsmeer.
The Rest Points of the HollandRoute are exciting places to eat, drink and sleep, all situated in historic buildings, up to a restaurant on an old railway bridge.

The HollandRoute brings you to heritage locations of trade, industry, technology, water management, infrastructure, social history and landscape, in the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area. The HollandRoute is part of the European network "European Route of Industrial Heritage (ERIH)".
